Duke Beardsley

| A fifth-generation Coloradan, Duke Beardsley has been drawing and painting the American West for as long as he can remember. Formally trained at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, Beardsley now works and lives with his family in Denver. Beardsley’s work was selected for Out West: The Great American Landscape, a groundbreaking traveling exhibition of contemporary American Western art that delighted audiences in museums across China. Beardsley’s many awards and recognitions include being the artist selected for the Colorado Governor’s Art Award; Artist of the Year as elected by the Foothills Art Center in Golden Colorado; and recipient of the William Weiss Purchase Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale in Cody, Wyoming. In addition, he was selected to paint the 2013 Calgary Stampede commemorative poster. His work has been featured in numerous regional and national exhibitions, including the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, the Colorado Governor’s Art Show & Sale, the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale, the Masters of the American West Art Exhibition and Sale, and at the A. R. Mitchell Museum of Western Art and the Booth Western Art Museum. Beardsley’s work is included in many notable private and public collections worldwide, including the Booth Western Art Museum, the Denver Art Museum, the Forbes Collection, and the Whitney Collection of Western American Art. His work has been featured in such publications as American Cowboy, Cowboys & Indians, the Denver Post, Equestrian, the Robb Report, Southwest Art, Western Art & Architecture, Western Art Collector, and Western Horseman. When he’s not in the studio, Beardsley can be found either on horseback at some of the great ranches of the American West or, with a little luck, stalking trout with a fly rod.
